Q2: How much does the Goldbox pay?

The Goldbox pays fair market value for your dental gold and gold jewellery. Payment depends on the actual gold market rates.

For gold jewellery we determine the recycling value based on the karat marking and the weight.

The value for gold crowns, porcelain crowns, gold and procelain bridges, onlays and inlays, PFM dental gold alloys, gold partial dentures and gold implant parts is determined based on weight, color and appearance.

Q3: Is it worth sending my scrap dental gold to the Goldbox for recycling?

As the Goldprice has risen the value for dental scrap gold has gone up as well. However it is often difficult to tell whether your dental scrap contains value simply by looking at it. In many cases ‘silver-colored’ dental scrap may contain trace quantities of Platinum, Palladium and even silver.

Silver-colored alloys are used to make crowns and bridges and some of these may have a fairly high precious metal content. These alloys, known in dentistry as "precious" alloys, are usually composed of 40% - 60% noble metal content (gold, silver, platinum and sometimes palladium).

Potential for having precious metal content does clearly have any yellow gold colored dental restorations. But as we described above, so may many silver-colored items. This includes the metal substructure of porcelain crowns and dental bridges.

Q4: What types of dental scrap should I send to the Goldbox for recycling?

You should send in whatever crowns, bridges, onlays and inlays you may have. Let the Goldbox determine what has recycling value. You don't have to be concerned about removing any cement, porcelain or tooth parts from the dental work. We have over 12 years of experience in appraising and dealing with dental scrap.

Q5: I live in the US. Can I send my old dental gold to the Goldbox as well.

Yes, that is no problem. We have various customers sending their gold dentals scrap from the US. Just make sure you send your old dental gold scrap by registered mail & with the green customs form completed.
